Thousand Islands Environment (LH) Sub-agency builds another maggot house through maggot bio-conversion program at Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands.

Thousand Islands LH Sub-agency Head, Djoko Rianto Budi Hartono stated, maggot house is built in Kelapa Island to develop more bio-conversion installation units in Thousand Islands.
"We involve the local residents and urban village apparatuses, as well as to educate the residents," he conveyed, Tuesday (8/18).
Maggot House in Tidung Island Starts OperatingUntil this day, his side has built 2 of 6 maggot houses which located in Tidung Island Urban Village and Kelapa Island Urban Village.
"The more maggot house, the more organic waste that can be used as animal feed and fertilizer, in addition, it also has economic value," he informed.
North Thousand Islands Kelapa Island Urban Village Government Section Head, Muslim stated, maggot house is built on donated residents land which covering an area of 3.5 x 2 square meters.
"Hopefully the construction can be completed soon and local residents can use it to reduce waste in the residential areas," he mentioned.
